Creative Process Blog Hop

Today, I'm thrilled to take part in an author blog hop all about my creative process. My wonderful Twitter friend, Nina Lemay, tagged me. Click on over and check her out!
1) What am I working on?
As of writing this, I'm hard at work trying to finish BRUTAL, my Fatal novella! Starting August 1st, it will be available on Wattpad. I'll post 2 chapters per week, on Fridays. This will be an unedited early version, for readers who are just DYING to read the story. The actual release will be Oct/Nov, through my publisher.
2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?
When it comes to my Fatal world, specifically, it's quite a deviation from the normal zombie book. It's more paranormal than horror. There's very little gore, lots of smoochy romance-y stuff, and absolutely zero apocalypse.
3) Why do I write what I do?
The element that ties all my books together is romance. I write it because I'm a strong proponent of love. Love can fix a wealth of mistakes, heal broken hearts, encouraged confidence, and stop wars. Also, it's smart to write what you like to read, and I like reading romance. I think it's interesting to see two people go from not-in-love to smitten.
4) How does my writing process work?
For me, it starts as an idea that I can't stop thinking about. I'd say 75% of writing a book is me thinking everything through in my head. If I can get a good handle on the story, actually writing it is relatively easy. I'm basically recording a story I already know. When I'm ready to start writing, sometimes I'll do it chronologically, other times, I'll choose certain scenes that I'm excited about. I'm definitely not an outline person but I do make lists or beat sheets to remind me of the scenes I've planned out.
I'm supposed to tag a person to continue the hop but I've been crazy busy and haven't been able to touch base with anyone to tag. SO... if you want to participate in the hop, leave your short bio in the comments, with a link to your blog. Then, anytime in the next two weeks, answer the four questions above in a post and link back to this post (mention I tagged you), and tag one of your friends! That's all you have to do. You can check out Nina's post to get an idea of how to format yours.
