Get ready for a tornado…

I was going to say whirlwind but since I live in Oklahoma, 'tornado' seemed more appropriate.
October marks the beginning of the part of the year that's the busiest for me and my family. It's laden with fun, fright, and superb family disfunction! WEEEE!!!
It looks something like this:
Dreadiversary (the day I got my dreadlocks- 4 years ago)
Anniversary- 9 years
A slew of family birthdays, including a "to be expected" nephew.
Costume and pumpkin picking
Deep breath before November starts
So. Many. Freaking. Birthdays. Not kidding. Among those are mine and my daughter's.
Bday party planning.
Bday party
Thanksgiving (in-laws)
Thanksgiving (family)
Black Friday (The day when hell comes to earth in the form of irresistible deals on electronics. Winchester brothers, get on that.)
Tree decorating
I think you all know how December goes but as a reminder…
Light show
Christmas program 1,2,&3
Christmas parties
Christmas movies/music
Christmas cookies
Meals to prepare
Christmas (in-laws)
Christmas (family)
Christmas (mom's)
Deep breath. Deep breath. Hyperventilating.
Really though, I love every stress-filled, sweat-soaked, give-me-coffee-or-suffer-my-wrath minute of it. There is nothing quite like this time of the year! I love it like I love my Keurig. Which, if you don't know how much that is, ask my husband. He's jealous, I think. Of a machine. Ha. Silly dude.
*I'm just kidding, babe. You know I only have eyes for you. All four of them. Just… put down the amazing Jetson-esque coffee maker. Yes, gently, like that. There. See? All better now.
**K-baby, he didn't mean any of that. In fact, he loves you just as much as I do. I see the way he looks at you when he thinks I'm not watching.
So, back to the post. This part of the year is always so much fun, but this time it's going to be even greater. Here's why. On top of my regular fun, I'm going to have all kinds of writing fun. And we all know writing fun is the funnest of all funs. Right? We know that, right?
That's what I thought.
Here's what's coming up:
I wrote a story for Pen & Muse's Dark Carnival which is taking place throughout the month of October.
My super secret announcement is coming soon (any day now, really, and I can't wait to share).
I'm taking part in one of the coolest holiday celebrations, hosted by the spectacular Sutton Shields (posting on that later)!
Also, I plan to dedicate more time to Sad Blog. Sad Blog deserves more attention than the little pat on the head I give it once a month.
So get ready, I say to you, 'cause here it comes. *gets whisked away like Dorothy to Oz*

  1. Wow, sounds busy, but it does sound like a lot of fun, all the activities. :) In my family most of the birthdays are in the Spring. Every two weeks a birthday. Everyone doesn't get a party though...

Uh, I wish I had a Keurig. But I don't drink enough coffee. But then I say to myself, "when you do, don't you want to make it at home? don't you want the best?" Yeah...poor me.

    1. I waited so long to get my K-baby. I couldn't rationalize spending that much. But let me tell you, he was worth every penny (also, he was a gift, haha!). :) :)
